わずかな「違い」を活用する
前回の更新時に、英検準1級の勉強を始めたことを書きましたが、購入済みの同試験用テキストや問題集の他にも、次のような「教材」を活用しています。
1.ネイティヴの大学発行テキスト
写真にある2冊は、アメリカの名門大学が発行しているもので、某英会話学校の所属講師による出張教室で、使われていたものです。
テキストの中身は、すべて英語なので、否応なく「英語漬け」状態になれます。また、それぞれのタイトルにもありますように、ビジネス英語のテキストなので、どちらかというと、英検よりもTOEICテストに向いているかもしれませんが、試験合格のための英語力アップもさることながら、本当に必要なのは、仕事を含む日常生活の中の「実戦」で使える英語力ですので、この2冊の内容を十分に復習し、身につけておく必要を感じています。
2. 各種ネット情報とスマホの専用アプリ
その他にも、休憩用として、日本のテレビ番組の「英語吹き替え版」を見たりもしています。
勉強できる便利さは、素晴らしいの一言です。
それぞれ、通常の教材とは、少しばかり異なる特徴のものですが、上手く使い分けると、大きな効果を発揮できそうです。
次回はこの二つを組み合わせた、私なりの勉強方法を紹介させていただきます。
Last time when I updated this blog, I wrote that I had started to prepare for the pre-1st grade English Language Proficiency test. I actually utilize theflowing "study materials" besides texts
and exercise books which I already bought.
1. Texts issued by native universities
Two books in the picture were published by elite universities in USA. They had been used at delivery English Conversation classes by instructors who belonged to a famous language school. The contents are all written in English, so I can be under condition called "Immersing myself into English" whether I want to or not.
Also each title says, these are for business communication, so they might be suitable for TOEIC, not English Language Proficiency test.
However not only for improving command of English to pass the exam, but also ability useful for my daily life including business is what I really need. I therefore feel a need to get skillful of contents from those two texts.
2. Variety of Internet information and applications for smart phones
We can find an endless of number of movie related to English education in YouTube an so on immediately. I've been carefully selecting what I need, and using them as my study materials of listing or speaking English.
In addition to them, I sometimes watch English version of Japanese TV dramas for tea break.
I really think it wonderful to study whenever and wherever just by connecting to Internet with a smart phone, for example, i Phone which I always bring with me.
They are a little different from usual study materials in some points, but I assume that great effect can be expected with suitably and creatively use.
Next time I will introduce my method of study with combine of the both.
